Money: What is Money?
Think of all the amazing things you can do with billions of dollars accessible to you at any time. The dream house, the dream car, the dream vacation or the dream anything all of a sudden stops becoming a dream and turns into reality once you have money. One can also blame money for all of the hardships in one’s life and for all the hardships in the world today. So what is the very idea of money that holds such a large portion of our emotional well being? What is this thing called money, why do we have it and what is its TRUE purpose?
Why Do We Even Have Money?
To answer this question, we need to examine the reason why there is money to begin with. In this example, say you have a car that is need of serious repair, the series of events that would happen would be as follows:
You want your car to be fixed -> Mechanic expresses that they can fulfill the your want to fix the car -> Mechanic fixes car -> You thank the mechanic by either bartering or giving them money
Notice that you want to thank the mechanic by bartering or giving money after you were given what you want. So the real reason for money is to allow someone to say thanks for helping them get what they want.
Money is Just ‘Someone’s Thanks’
If the reason for money is to say thanks, then it would be easy to state that the flow of money to one person is happening because they are doing things to give lots of people what they want and in return those people are sending that person money, or thanks. So rich people are rich because they are giving more people what they want.
The best example for this is Bill Gates. Bill Gates created a software system that helps millions of people all over the world. In fact, his invention is credited with starting an entire industry that ended up creating millions of jobs all of the world. Since most people have Bill Gates to thank for their job, they thank the man by buying his product. The more people he helped, the richer he became and now he is the richest man in the world.
What About Stealing?
If money is just a way of saying thanks to one person, then stealing someone’s thanks has converted money from a thank you to an f-you. The more f-you’s you collect the more problems that will come into your life because stealing is a form of control, which is objectifying others.
In short, the problems with money have to do with people objectifying others to get money.
To Summarize.
Money is just thanking someone for giving you what you want. The more you give people what they want, the more money you will get.
