How To Solve Any Problem

posted by Stevie B on January 24th, 2009

Throughout this website you will find the answers to depression, anxiety, love, money, character attacks, emotions, confidence and tons more.  After people read these articles, two questions come up.  One is how did I figure out these problems and the other is that it is hard to change your own beliefs to agree with what is said in this website.

This next article is going to answer both questions by showing you how to solve any problem in your life.  This article will not tell you the solution to your problem, but will give you a template so that you can figure out any problem you might have, including changing your beliefs.

This article will be based on the template that will help you change your beliefs and define the indefinable, as some beliefs are based on words that do not have a proper definition.  However, this template can also be used to solve any problem that has beliefs with words that are clearly defined, which I proved by figuring out a type of vaccine that would cure the AIDS virus.

So here are the ten steps to solve any problem:

Step 1 - Define The Problem

“I have no money and I am broke”

Step 2 - Identify The Belief

The belief in question always has a negative connotation beside the word.  So in this example, the word “no” implies that there is negative connotation with money.  Given that the problem is that you have no money and you want money, then the belief in question is about money.

Step 3 - Define The Belief

Write down what you really believe about the belief.  For instance:

“Money is the root of all evil”

Step 4 - Identify The “All” Constant

In all beliefs that have a problem, there is a tendency to label the belief as bad and then apply the word “all” to that belief.  Given that a belief can always be good or bad, there must be a realization a belief cannot be always bad.  It is only sometimes good and sometimes bad. So reword the belief so that the “all” constant is now a “sometimes” constant.

The reason why this step is so important is that it helps you realize that there is another option to your current belief.  Without removing the “all” constant, you believe that there is no other option.  You will only begin to look for other options if you change the “all” constant to a “sometimes” constant.  For instance:

“Money is the root of some evil”

Step 5 - Identify The Subject

The subject is the word that the other words are explaining.  In this example it is money, as rest of the sentence “is the root of some evil” will mean nothing without the subject.

Step 6 - Define The Subject With Facts

This step bases your ideas on reality by bringing in multiple examples to properly define the subject by finding the commonality.  Without the correct information about the subject, you cannot correctly find the commonality and define the subject.  Without a properly defined subject, one cannot solve the problem as the subject drives the explanation of the belief.

Therefore, this step is where subject matter experts can have a better understanding of how to solve a problem vs. other people, as subject matter experts can better define the subject by having more information to find the commonality. However, with the internet, other people can also get access to the same information that subject matter experts have, which allows everyone to solve any problem because they can also find the commonality.

With regards to the belief of money, the examples always take the form of the following:

Person A
Thought -> Emotion -> Action -> Result A

Person B
Result A -> Thought -> Emotion -> Action -> Result B

When you put in different examples of how people use money, you will find that there will be a commonality in thoughts that will appear.  For this scenario, the commonality is that someone will do a service or make a product, which will result in someone giving money for that service or product.

Step 7 (Optional) - Further Clarify The Subject

If the subject has two meanings, then the subject needs to be further defined.  For instance, money is usually defined as a generally accepted medium to exchange goods. So is the definition of money about the act of exchanging goods or is about the paper thing that is used to exchange goods?

To further clarify the subject, try to find other examples that fit the current definition of the subject.  For instance, money is not the only medium that is generally accepted to exchange goods, as you can barter anything so long as the item being bartered is generally accepted for the exchange of goods.  So bartering and money each have the same definition.

Step 8 (Optional) Redefine The Subject

Given the other examples in step 7, redefine the subject so that it explains all the examples.  If the new definition can explain all the commonalities in all of the examples, then you can use that definition for the subject.

For instance, money and bartering take place after someone has done something for you.  Since money and bartering is an act that takes place after someone has helped you, you can state that money is just thanks.

So money is thanks.

Step 9 - Insert The New Defined Subject Into The Belief

“Thanks is the root of some evil”

Given that “thanks” is a good thing and not a bad thing, this belief does not make sense.  So money cannot be the root of all evil, or even some evil because money is thanks, which is always good.

If this is the case, then how can “thanks” be an “all” constant? By realizing where evil comes from.  You can apply objectification to “thanks” to remove the “all” constant in “thanks”, but the root of “thanks” is a positive thing until negativity is applied to it.  So the truth is that money is the root of all good, not evil. It is only evil when people objectify other people to take their money.

Step 10 - Define The Belief In A Positive Way

Here is what we know about money:

-    Money is thanks
-    Thanks is easy to get
-    Money is the root of all good
-    You like good things

Therefore you believe money is something good that you enjoy and it is easy to get.

Now You Need To Monitor Your Thoughts

Now that you know how to change your beliefs, the next step is to monitor your thoughts so that you catch yourself from saying your old belief.  To do so, realize that your old belief makes you feel bad.  So if you feel bad when you are thinking, then understand that you are thinking about a belief that is negative.  Once you realize the thoughts that are causing you to feel bad, do these ten steps to help correct your belief.

Good article, but it needs some fine-tuning. A few things stuck out for me:
-How does “I have no money and I am broke” translate into “Money is the root of all evil”?
-I’m confused about step 6. Can you illustrate it with the example?
-I don’t agree that money is thanks. You say that you give money after receiving value, however I often pay before receiving value and/or don’t feel grateful when giving people money. Is gratitude scalable like money? Is $1 a different amount of thanks than $1000? Is it really thanks if you are told how much to give? Money is definitely a form a exchanging value, but I wouldn’t call it thanks.

    - Regarding “having no money” and translating into “money is the root of all evil”, it is actually dependent on the belief of the person. So it will translate differently depending on the person’s beliefs about money.

    - Step 6 is just the gathering of examples in reality. For instance, you buy gum with money, you buy beer with money, you sell widgets for money, so the commonality is that money is a medium of exchange.

    - To answer this question, I see the exchange that is happening as being thanks. So the medium of exchange or money is just the medium with which to exchange thanks. If you want to discuss the money point further, please put the comment on the money page.
